Christopher Compton
Ballet


After studying voice for 4 years at Pebblebrook High School in Mableton, GA, Christopher Compton began his dance training at the University of the Arts In Philadelphia, PA under the tuteluge of Andrew Pap. He earned his BFA in Dance and went on to train with Marcia Dale Weary at the famed Central Pennnsylvania Youth Ballet. While with CPYB, he was offered contracts with the Colorado Ballet, Nashville Ballet and many others. He chose to pass on these offers and opportunities in pursuit of his lifelong dream, to work with Twyla Tharp.

In December 2003 his dream became reality when he began working in the 1st National Tour of Twyla Tharp and Billy Joel's Tony Award winning musical "Movin' Out". After he finished working in"Movin' Out" he was began work on the North American Premiere of "Dirty Dancing" in Toronto, Canada, where he was honored to perform the lead role made famous by Patrick Swayze. He worked with that show until it's closing in April 2009, and has since been free-lance teaching at various dance and ballet schools.
