Policies
Registration
|
- Students are registered for the entire year. We ask that returning students have their form and payment turned in by August 8th 2011 and classes begin August 15th, 2011. All students are required to complete a registration form signed by their parent or guardian prior to attending classes and should submit the registration form with payment by August 15th.
You may register at any time during the year, provided space remains in that level or class, but please regard the policies on pro-rating tuition. We require a minimum number of 5 students for classes to take place at any time during the year. All schedules are subject to change or modification
Registration Fee
- All students are required to pay a $35.00 non-refundable registration fee. Included with the registration you will receive an SSB logo t-shirt along with the 2011-2012 Calendar and a schedule of your classes.
Discounts
- A family discount applies as follows: 10% off first additional child and 15% off second additional child enrolled and 20% off third child enrolled. All discounts apply with the highest percentage deducted from the lowest amount of the tuitions paid. Family discounts will only apply for students registering and making their payment option in full.
Family discounts will only apply if siblings
enrolls for one full period or more and is not applicable to pro-rated tuition.
Pro-Rated Tuition
- All new students will
be charged one additional week from the pro-rated date. Returning students tuition will be pro-rated a maximum of one week, and these students are encouraged to make-up classes with-in the same pay period at lower level classes.

Payments and all fees should be made to Scottsdale School of Ballet or SSB. If mailing payment, mail to
the address listed above. We accept only cash or checks for payment of tuition and fees. If you are paying in cash do not
leave the studio without a receipt. This is the only proof we have that you have made a payment.
Returned checks will result in a $25.00 Non Sufficient Funds charge to your account.

Our year is 40 weeks and does not include the 2012 Summer Intensive in the tuition. Payments at SSB are on a 5 Payment, 2 Payments Per Year or 1 Yearly Payment. All payment dates are due on the dates listed below. Please make sure your payments are made on time.

*Payments must be paid at this time or student will not perform. An automatic late fee (see below) will be added to your account for tuition not received by the due dates. If not paid by the following week, the student will be asked to observe classes until the account is made current.

| Please note the above dates. As a courtesy we will have dates posted in the studio lobby and send an email as a reminder payments are due.

If due to financial duress, you may request a 2 payment plan for the 5 payment option, and if approved, there will be an additional $10.00 fee per payment. All payment plans must be requested prior to any Late Fees placed on the account and must be paid in full on the prearranged dates.
Late Fee Policy
An automatic $20.00 per week "Late Fee" will be added to your account for unpaid tuition. After 2 weeks of unpaid tuition the student will only observe class until the account is current with payments and fees. Any unpaid balance will also result in the student not performing. If due to financial duress, you may request a payment plan and if approved, there will be an additional $10.00
Refund Policy
Tuition is non-refundable except in a case of serious injury or illness. Refund or credit will be on a pro-rated basis only for classes missed, and is contingent upon the date we receive a written request and will not be retroactive to any earlier date. A signed Doctor's note is required for any refund.
Costume Fee
A non-refundable Costume Fee will be charged in a performance option. Costume fees are due by October 17th
for the full year or Winter. Spring is due by February 13th 2012. All costumes will be kept, stored and maintained by SSB for use in future performances.We no longer charge a Production Rehearsal Fee.

Class/Rehearsal Attendance and Dress Code |
|
Students are required to attend all classes and arrive 5 to 10 minutes prior to all classes for which they
have registered. Students arriving later than 10 minutes may be asked to observe class. Absences are allowed only for medical reasons, illness,
injury or serious personal problems. If a student has several unexcused absences, or excessive tardiness this may compromise the student's
participation in the "Winter Festival" and/or "Spring Performance".
All performing students will be required to attend Saturday rehearsals, in addition to their regularly scheduled classes. A copy of the the Winter Festival rehearsal schedule is available here,WINTER Please notify SSB of all absences. All students must abide by the "Required Class Attire" for their level. Shoe size and fit must be approved by teacher or directors prior to student attending classes.
Students not in the proper attire may be asked to observe class. For dress code and attire click here Dress Code.
In-Studio Policy All ladies hair should be pulled back in a tight bun with no bangs and students should be dressed in proper attire for classes. No jewelry, gum, food or drinks (except clear water in a plastic bottle) will be allowed in the studios
Do not bring cash, jewelry, or other valuables to the studio. Scottsdale School of Ballet is not responsible for any lost or stolen articles. Please respect the dressing rooms, lobby and studio areas by keeping them clean and orderly. No food is permitted in the dressing room area and it has been noted that these rooms have been messy and unkept. Students are responsible for their dressing rooms and if found in disorder, it will result in the loss of dressing room privledges.

SSB Viewing WeekFor our students, viewing weeks are an integral part of learning to perform.We encourage parents to attend as often as you like during these weeks.
Viewing days will be Monday thru Saturday.
Parents will only
be allowed to view classes during the SSB Viewing Days. We welcome
and encourage parents, family members and friends to come and
see the progress of the students throughout the year during this time. Please
arrive prior to the class start time and turn off all pagers,
cell phones. Siblings may attend but please, no babies or children under 3 years old
during these classes. If you arrire late or have to leave early please wait until the exercise is finished
You may take
photographs or videotape your child during these classes. Special
arrangements to view classes outside of the Viewing Week may
be made upon request of the directors. Viewing Weeks are:

Private lessons and Drop-in classes
All private lessons at
SSB must be approved by the directors and are available for students from Level
4 to Advanced. Private lessons are only available with a current SSB faculty
member and the rates for teachers will vary. Please consult your teacher for
their current rate and teachers fees should be paid directly to the teacher.
Rates for studio rental are $10.00 per hour for students currently registered
and enrolled at SSB and $20.00 per hour for Non-SSB students. Non-SSB students
must have a signed waiver and release form on file at SSB prior to scheduling
any classes. All rental fees are to be paid directly to SSB and are due prior to
each lesson. Studio space in on an as available basis and we cannot guarantee
time is available for the time you request. Drop-in classes are based on an
director approved student taking an occasional class and if on a regular basis the studnet will be required to register and pay appropriate registration fees. Drop-in classes are only available for Intermediate and Advanced students
and we request that you call prior to the class you wish to attend to ensure no
changes have been made for the class. Rates for Drop-in Classes are as follows:
Drop-in rate for Intermediate and Advanced level classes (Non-Adult) are 1.5
hours = $20.00, 1.75 hours = $25.00 and a 2 hour class = $30.00.

Calendar Upon registration your child will receive a calendar for the
entire year. Included will be all days off, weeks off, vacation days, holidays observed by SSB and payment due dates. You can also access the it here CALENDAR Detailed Theater
